Wireless Headset Systems
Wireless headsets come in 3 types; 1) Office, 2) Home and 3) cellular.
Office wireless are represented by three technologies; 1) DECT 1.9 gHz, 2) Bluetooth and 3) VOIP 900mHz.
DECT is a recent frequency which started in Europe. It is a 'voice dedicated' frequency. Because it is voice dedicated, the sound reproduction is clearer than traditional 900 and 2.4 frequencies. DECT is also secure with 64 bit encryption.
There are 3 basic parts to an office wireless headset; 1) base or charging unit, 2) actual headset and 3) handset lifter.
When a call comes in a tone will sound in the headset. The call is answered by pressing a button on the earpiece of the headset. The lifter then raises the handset back at the phone.
Office Bluetooth wireless systems are multipoint. This means they can be paired with more than one device, usually the desk phone and a cell phone.
