Modular Amplifiers

Modular amplifiers are used as the interface between the actual headset top and the phone.  Many phone manufacturers have 'headset ports' on their telephones.  These are separate connection points designed specifically for headsets.  Having a headset port gives the user a choice between using an amplifier box or simply a direct connect cord.  Obviously the cord is a lot less than the amplifier.  Cords however only provide a connection to the phone and nothing else.  In order to get audio (receive/transmit) adjustiments, mute and headset/handset functions the user needs the amplifier.
